Arrangements

For many years, Thierry Besnard has been writing arrangements. This involves adapting a musical composition so that it can be played by an instrumental or vocal ensemble different from the one for which it was originally written. This can be transcription, harmonization, orchestration, style adaptation, structure, etc.

The arrangements then give a new life to a musical work, adapting to different performance contexts and exploring new artistic possibilities.

At the end of March 2025, his last arrangement for harmony orchestra, « The Concerting Symphony » composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the late 1770s asked him to work more than 200 hours.

An arrangement may require many hours of work if it is a concerto for example. However, Thierry Besnard wishes to share some achievements in open access.
